Joe’s practice primarily focuses on business transactions in the franchise context with an emphasis on state franchise registration and regulatory compliance. Additionally, Joe routinely drafts franchise disclosure documents, franchise agreements, and their accompanying documents tailored to each company’s developing franchise system. Joe also advises his clients on day-to-day legal issues that face each franchise system including default, transfer, and termination. Joe has recently expanded his practice to trademark law with a focus advising clients regarding the ability to register certain marks, prosecuting such applications and maintaining trademark filings.
Prior to joining Fisher Zucker, Joe worked as outside counsel for an NFL franchise and represented active and retired professional athletes and front office personnel in civil, criminal, federal, and family court.
During law school, Joe was a member of the Moorad Sports Law Journal and worked a research assistant for Michael Risch, the head of the school’s intellectual property law department. Additionally, Joe worked as a Law Student Counselor in the Clinic for Law & Entrepreneurship.
Joe is a graduate of Villanova University Charles Widger School of law (J.D. 2017) and received a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University, Smeal College of Business in 2014.
